Stanley Wasserman is Rudy Professor Emeritus of Psychological and Brain Sciences, Statistics, and Sociology at Indiana University. He is a leading figure in mathematical psychology and the quantitative study of social networks. Wasserman’s research spans mathematical psychology, applied statistics, and the development of statistical models for social and behavioral data, with particular influence on the theory and application of social network analysis.
He earned his Ph.D. (1977) and M.A. (1974) in Statistics from Harvard University, and holds both an M.A. in Business and Applied Economics (1973) and a B.S. in Economics (1973) from the University of Pennsylvania.
