After graduating with my Ph.D in Psychology from the University Of Oregon in 1981 (Lew Goldberg, mentor) I have held positions of various types and lengths at the University of Illinois, Auburn University, Stanford University, The University of Alabama, Dalhousie University, New York University and am currently at St John’s University where I have been since 2003. I was Department Chair from 2014 to 2020. I have held a number of collaborative/consulting relationships at Mount Sinai Medical School, Columbia University Medical School, NYU Langone, and Northwell Health.
