Dr. Jolynn Pek

Bio:

Jolynn is an Professor of Psychology and Director of the Quantitative Psychology Graduate Program at The Ohio State University (OSU). Before joining OSU, she was a faculty member at York University in Toronto, Canada. She holds a doctorate in psychology and a master’s in biostatistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, following her undergraduate and master’s studies at the National University of Singapore.

Her contributions to psychological research have earned her several honors, including the Association for Psychological Science Rising Star Award (2017), the Early Career Research Award from the Society of Multivariate Experimental Psychology (2021), and the Anne Anastasi Distinguished Early Career Contribution Award from the American Psychological Association’s Division 5 (Quantitative and Qualitative Psychology) in 2022. She currently serves as the 2025 President of APA Division 5 and is a fellow of the division. Additionally, she holds editorial roles as Associate Editor of Multivariate Behavioral Research and Consulting Editor for American Psychologist, Psychological Methods, and Journal of Mathematical Psychology.

Jolynn’s research focuses on quantifying the uncertainties inherent in the research process—from study design and implementation to data modeling and reporting. She is particularly interested in bridging the gap between methodological advancements and their practical application by substantive researchers.
