Dr. William F. Chaplin

Professor and Director of Clinical Research

After graduating with my Ph.D in Psychology from the University of Oregon in 1981 I have held positions of various types and lengths at the University of Illinois, Auburn University, Stanford University, The University of Alabama, Dalhousie University, New York University, and am currently at St. John's University in Queens New York. I have collaborative/consulting relations at Columbia Medical School  at the Center for Behavioral Cardiology and Hypertension, and at NYU Langone Mecial School at the Center for Healthful Behavior Change.  My primary research interests are in personality, health, and positive psychology.  I have two children who, as of 2013, are college undergraduates.
