Dr. Rick Hoyle

Bio:

Rick Hoyle (Ph.D. University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill 1988) is a professor in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Duke University. His research draws on concepts and approaches from personality, cognitive, developmental, and social psychology. He has long-standing interest in effective measurement and modeling of theoretical constructs across forms of conceptualization (e.g. trait, state, domain-specific). A major theme of his research is characteristics and processes that reflect a healthy understanding of self in relation to others (e.g., intellectual humility). He collaborates frequently with scholars from across psychological science as well as other behavioral science disciplines (e.g., economics, sociology, political science).
