Xin Cynthia Tong is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Virginia. Her research focuses on Bayesian methods and statistical computing, robust and interpretable longitudinal data modeling, and data science methods including missing data analysis, machine learning, and text mining. Her substantive interests are in the development of cognitive ability and achievement skills, health analytics and sustainability research. Cynthia received her M.S. in Mathematics in 2009 from Renmin University of China, and Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology in 2014 from the University of Notre Dame.
