Professor of Psychology & Neuroscience
I am Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience and Director of the Center for the Study of Adolescent Risk and Resilience at Duke University. I completed doctoral work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in social and quantitative psychology.
My research interests include personality processes and problem behavior during late adolescence and emerging adulthood, and indicators of adjustment and well-being, with a particular emphasis on characteristics that reflect a healthy understanding of self in relation to others (e.g., intellectual humility). Rigorous measurement of psychological constructs is a cross-cutting theme of my work.
